Music, asked by bisborener, 3 months ago

Why can Alzheimer’s patients often recognize familiar music, even though their other memories are harder to access? Their memories of music were considered “important” to them, so their brains still react to this sound. The music is louder than other sounds they hear. The area of the brain where music is processed is the same as where memory is processed. Alzheimer’s patients often have better hearing than other people.
