Why can interior of conductor have no excess charge?

Here is your answer.....
Due to this force, negative ions move and gather at the one side of the conductor. i.e, in the direction opposite to E. So, on the other side of conductor, only positive ions remain. When force of internal electric field and external electric field are equal, they cancel each other since they are in opposite directions.
