metal do not react with answer because metal are electropositive
so they always form ionic bond and covalent bond because a covalent is what something which was sharing of electrons but in case of metals they do not share electrons so the metal reaction with is own salt is not possible

In a displacement reaction, a more reactive metal can displace a less reactive metal from its salt solution.The elements potassium, sodium, lithium and calcium are very reactive and they react with cold water to produce hydroxides and hydrogen gas. That is why each metal react to its own salt.
