Only green leaves can manufacture food because they have a green pigmnet called the chlorophyll.

The extra food manufactured by the leaves is mainly stored in the flashy part of leaves, root, stem, fruits, and seeds.

Leaves make food through the photosynthesis process. It is a process in which "carbon dioxide and water" are involved in the "presence of sunlight and chlorophyll". It mainly forms carbohydrates like glucose which is used by plant cells for growth and different life processes.

Usually, plants secure food in the form of "starch" in their leaves and also in the modified roots such as potato."
