Paddy cannot be grown in winter season because it is a kharif crops which are highly dependent on high southwest monsoon rains for their well growth. Paddy requires a plenty of water which is unavailable in winter, so it is grown in rainy season from June to October. Because of its high demand of irrigation it is often transplanted.
