Why can't a plant erect without cell wall

It is because cell wall makes the plant stiff and hard and gives it mechanical support due to the presence of cellulose and the tissue called sclerenchyma which makes plant erect and gives support.

»Cell wall of plant cell is formed of a fibrous polysaccharide called cellulose while it is formed of peptidoglycan in bacteria and blue green algae cells but is formed of chitin. Most often cell wall is a protective and supportive code it also provide a definite shape to the cell and hence a plant can't erect without cell wall.
