why can't animals and human make food from carbon dioxide and water in the presence of light

Because animals and humans are not autotrops and are depended on plants for their food

animals and human can't make food from carbon dioxide and water in the presence of light because they are heteretrophs and they don't have chlorophyll which the plants uses to make food ..as they don't have chlorophyll they can't perform photosynthesis
