Why can't animals make food from Co2, H2O and sunlight, like plants do?

because animals are heterotrophs and heterotrophs cannot make food themselves they depends on others while plants are autotrophs and they can make their food by using raw materials .

animals can't make food from CO2 , H2O and sunlight as they lack of chlorophyll and thats why not only animals but some plants also can't make their own food as chlorophyll helps green plants to carry out the process of photosynthesis
