The gills of fish are same as our lungs. Due, to their gills they are able to extract oxygen from water and send it into the fish's blood stream. This is the reason why most fishes and other aquatic animals that get oxygen from water, can't survive on land very long.

humans live on land as they have lungs because lungs breathe oxygen from air, fishes have gills that breathe oxygen dissolved in water we can say that it's the property of gills
