Okay..so let's take a small example for this.
A mother saves up all money and works hard everyday..for? for her family! On the other hand another mother buys useless things wasting her husbands money and his hard work. The first incident shows love of a mother for her family..whereas the other showed greed of a mother for herself. This is what differentiates love from greed. Love is not only for oneself. It's for others as well. Greed is just for oneself. Love and greed can not go hand in hand. I hope this helps ya!
