why can't heat or light of many stars be felt?

Answer:

Simply because they are too far away. Only one star is close enough for us to feel the heat, and even that rapidly reduces if you go slightly further down the Solar System to Mars. After Sun, the second nearest star is Proxima Centauri, and it takes 4.25 years for its light to even reach us.
