why can't i hammer a bottle into the wall but i can hammer a needle into the wall?

because the surface area of the needle is greater so it will apply more pressure on the wall and hence it will move inside the wall....

The surface area is inversely proportional to the pressure, so the bottle will not penetrate inside...
