why can't I hear any media sound when I am in a call​

While I'm on call, I can't hear any sound from media playing.

I can't even play any media on my phone, Google Play Music won't play, neither will YouTube, and various apps; even if I get to play a video on Facebook, the sound won't play.

Some times it works, it just randomly does, if I'm lucky. I have to hang up and call back and try my luck to see if sound coming from media will play. I know it sounds absurd to be on a call and play media at the same time, but I often am talking on the phone and watching videos and whatnot along with the person on the other side.

Is there a way to fix this?
