Why can't magnetic field lines intersect ? (boards tomorrow kindly help)

they never intersect each other

Explanation:

if two field lines intersect,there would be two directions of the magnetic field at that point which is not possible.it would mean if a compass needle is placed at a point(say p) ,north pole of its needle will point in two directions which is not possible
