Why can't we call solids as fluids?​

Solid cannot flow, so they are not fluids.

The answer to this question is more of linguistic than chemical. The word fluid means- a substance that flows, changes shape, non-rigid and has no distinctive shape. As the solid materials do not do any of the mentioned above, they are not called fluids.
