Why can't we compress the solid block of steel?​

Answer. As we know that the block of steel is solid in nature. Therefore, the intermolecular space is very much less in it thus, making it almost incompressible.

we cannot compress the solid box of steel because of the rigidity property in solids. solids have ability to retain its shape if some external force is applied it is because solids have a great force of attraction and it needs a very large force to break its force of attraction. Thats why solids have definite shape and volume. And the another reason is that they are having least intermolecular space
