Why can't we have methanone and ethanone as ketones?

You Know that there is an oxygen atom in every ketone and the oxygen atom wants to keep itself inside at least two carbon atoms.
Propanone is the first compound to have carbon atoms in both sides of the oxygen atom.
While methyl and ethyl group have only one and two carbon atoms so the oxygen atom cannot come inside the two carbon atoms.
Therefore Methanone and ethanone doesn't exist.
