Why can't we read a book if it is placed below 25 cm in front of our eyes?

Becoz below the length of 25cm the eye lense came at it maximum exhaustion means it can no more contract (become dense ) so as to decrease the focal length....

Hence beyond 25 cm the it starts forming blurred images
