I will explain you simply
our eyes need light to see something
when light is enter in the eye
than by the light anything is reflect to ratina
and ratina make a image of that thing
when no light no reflection no image
thats why

because in there is no light that would reflect in our eye to form its image on our retina... it is possible to see objects only in presence of light....
