Actually the surface of white sheet of paper is not smooth. So , when lightray incident on it, it reflected back at different angles. This multiplereflection scatters the reflecting rays of the image and so we lost theimage

we can't see the image in a white sheet of paper through it reflects light because the white sheet paper is not smooth so when light is incident on it, the light bounces off in different angle.
Thus resulting in diffuse or irregular reflection.
