earth is elyptical and moon is round maybe. so take an example of BALL AND FLASH LIGHT.
if u place ball in table and flashes light in the ball then u will be able to see its frount part and SHADOW OF THE BACK PART. THATS whats happens here.
ITS SIMPLE U CANT SEE EITHER SIDE OF A COIN AT A TIME.
EITHER U SEE HEAD OR TALE.
