Question:

Why can't we use Copper(II) hydroxide to make Copper Sulphate

___________________________________________________________

Answer and explanation:

Copper hydroxide can react with H₂SO₄, which gives the following products

Cu(OH)₂ + H₂SO₄ → CuSO₄ + 2H ₂O

It is not that copper (II) hydroxide is not used to make CuSO₄

Only pure copper metal cannot be used to prepare copper sulphate, this is because, copper is more inert towards sulphuric acid
