Why can't yeast be placed in kingdom protista?

Yeast can't be placed in kindom protista because members of kindom protista shows different characteristics as compared to yeast..... They are eukaryotic their cells contain well defined nucleus... Nd other membrane bound cells... While yeast is a fungi....

Yeast cannot be placed in protista as it is fungi and respires anaerobically.It also shows holozoic mode of nutrition that is not shown by protozoans.
