Why can the fluids used to dry-clean clothing remove grease even when water cannot?

THEY MIGHT CONTAIN SOME KIND OF ACID. WHICH CLEANS THE GREASE OF CLOTHES. WHICH NORMAL WATER CAN'T. WATER ALSO USE SOAP WITH IT.
