why can the sun's heat not reach the earth by conduction or convection​

Conduction and convection methods require a material medium to propagate and it's impossible for that to happen in this case because the medium between Sun and Earth is vacuum, on the other hand radiation,to be more accurate electromagnetic radiation can propagate even in vacuum.
