Why can we smell rotten fish from a distance? Is it the same reason due to which we can smell perfume?Do rotten things become volatile?

We can smell rotten things from a separation since we have olfactory receptors in our nasal hole. The rotten odor diffuses into our nasal pit and enacts our olfactory receptors. These receptors send a signal to the mind which investigates the scent.

What's more, this is the extremely same reason we can notice the aroma.

And, rotten things don't wind up plainly volatile.
