why cannot the government compel any persons to pay and tax for the promotion or maintenance of the any particular religion?

Bcoz government doesn't work on religion basis
it has to take care of a country/state all together..

India is a Secular country as prescribed by the Written Constitution, hence all religions are treated equally in our country. So if the government leader is a Hindu and all his workers are Muslims and some are Hindu, even if he wants, he can't compel any person to pay and tax for the promotion or maintenance of the any particular religion......if he does so, he will be tried in the Supreme Court.
