To understand this first you should know how is sound propagated.

Sound is not like light it needs medium for propagation. Sound waves travels as a longitudinal waves (just like a slinky)

HOW IS SOUND PRODUCED?

When a body vibrates it compresses the particle surrounding the body, this compression further pushes the partIcles near it and itself get rarefacted, this continuos compression and rarefaction, is the meathod of propagation of sound.

But outer space is a complete vaccum, there is no particles to create compression-rarefaction for the sound to be propagated,in other words there is no medium in space through which sound can travel, hence no sound is heard in the outer space.!!!!

A noun is a word that functions as the name of a specific object or set of objects, such as living creatures, places, actions, qualities, states of existence, or ideas. However, noun is not a semantic category, so it cannot be characterized in terms of its meaning.
