Why cannot we use magnesium instead of tungsten in a bulb?

We know that metals are good conductors of heat and electricity. As tungsten is a metal, it is a good conductor of electricity. while,magnesium is a poor conductor .Also, it is very hard and has very high melting point. Because of its high thermal stability and good conductivity properties it has many uses in electronic devices.
