because when light falls on object because of its irregular surface it scatters light in all directions and we are able to see it. since cinema halls have very low light therefore we are not able to see all objects clearly

1. The less the distance between the screen in a cinema hall and the person watching the movie, the more is the intensity of light falling on the eye.
2. This results in great contraction of the pupil of the eye causing a strain.
Hence, you cannot see your surroundings clearly as you enter a darkened cinema hall.
Hope it helps!
