why cant a democratic government do what it likes? explain

hey....

a Democratic government can't do whatever it like because the power of Democratic government is not in his hand. he had to do for people welfare. he is bounded by constition. if he not do welfare for the people then next time he will out from the rule during election.

He has to do for people welfare.
The true democratic principle, that the people shall not be made to do what it does not like, is taken to mean that it shall never be required to tolerate what it does .
It seemed to me that democracy had been in the past too narrowly defined and had been identified illogically with some particular economic or political system
