why cant carbon form 4 multiple bonds between a single atom.
somebody answer please

hello buddy here's ur answer,,,

CARBON doesn't form all four bonds with another single atom , because,

1. since carbon is tetravalent, only it is the one which has capacity if forming 4 bonds, and no other elements in the periodic table, has such property , i.e, CATENATION,,..
THERFORE, even.it forms with any other element then the compound will be unstable, THERFORE, carbon doesn't form multiple bonds with any other atomm..

C₂  exist in the universe in the form of C=C

in some cases it makes 3 bonds like acetelyne H-C≡C-H if it form 4 multiple bond why will carbon have the necessity to bond with other elements and the structure of the beautiful earth will ruin there will be no organic compounds,etc.
