Why cant we see our image in a white sheet of paper though it reflects lights?

we can see our image  in a mirror because the mirror has only one painted surface but  paper has two painted surfaces so we cant see  our  image in a white  paper .we can also do a mirror by taking transparent glass and we can paint on one side of that glass.

it reflects light but it is a non- luminous body and have two surfaces. we see in mirror because it have only one painted surfaces and because of mercury present in the mirror.
