Why Carbon can't form a Tetra Bond with another Carbon?

electronic configuration of C =1s2,2s2,2p2

carbon can't form a tera bond with another carbon because since it has a s and p orbital so it must form a sigma and two pie bond with another carbon

since it have to formed a bond with another atom other than carbon

or

we can explain when carbon carbon bond is formed then their will be maximum repulsion between two nucleus of carbon .thus it will not exist
