why carbon compound are not conductors?
I wrote:
because carbon is small sized atom, so force of attraction between nucleus and v. electrons is high. hence, no free electrons is present for conduction.

am I right? or the one written in ncert is the only possible answer?

Ure partially right. U cud have added the point “they form covalent bonds where there is no production of ions”
