why carbon compounds are poor conductor of electricity ?

it's because of its tetravalent property.....
in that case the positive or negative charges produced ......it's intensity gets reduced....and then it results in poor conductivity...
or.....
carbon is a reactive element.....and gives it electrons or form shared pair compound...
