why carbon formed tetra valency

carbon has the atomic number of 6 that means in its electronic configuration the valence or outermost shell contains 4 electrons thus as we know it is the tendency of any atom to lose the electrons if the no.of valence electrons is lesser than 5 so the carbon firms a tetra valency.

Carbon is tetravalent because it has four valence electrons.In order to achieve noble gas configuration carbon shares these electron with four atoms of hydrogen.
