Why carbon forms compounds by sharing of electrons and not by the formation of ions ?​

because carbon has 6 electron and in the first ring ony 2 electron are putted but on the 2nd ring 6 electron are putted and so it take 2 electron to balance and if electron increase its a charge that is negative
