the atomic number of carbon be 6

the electronic configuration of carbon be 2,4

therefore the tendency of carbon to shared electron

while the carbon be donate and shared also electron

therefore they gain electron with other carbon their structure as like a neon

thus the carbon has a tendency to form a multiple bonds

Explanation:

Due to its small size, carbon has high tendancy for making multiple bonds (single, double, triple) by sharing more then on electron pair with its own atom or with the atom like oxygen, nitrogen etc.
