In acetic acid, the anion carries methyl group which has electron donating inductive effect which destablizes the anion further compared to hydrogen atom bonded to carboxyl in the formicacid. So due to relative instability of anion formed by ionization of acetic acid, it is a weaker acid than the formicacid.
