the cell is called the structural and functional unit of all life because it is the basis to which all the major organs and tissues in the body are made up of.
a group of cells with the same function grouped together makes up a tissue, tissues cone together to form organs, and different organs form a system. without cells, all life would die..................

Cell is called basic structural unit as because the group of cells form tissues, the group of tissues form organs and the different systems of body are of organs. Cell is also called functional unit of body as it contains all the organelles responsible for carrying out all the functions of body like growth, reproduction, production, hereditary etc.So cell is basic structural and functional unit of living organisms.
