why cell is also known as selectively permeable membrane ??? explain pls!!

This is because it only allows certain substances like water, minerals etc. to come inside and don't allow any other foreign body to enter the cell

Cell membrane or plasma membrane is known as selectively permeable membranes it allows entry of important substances only if any other substance tries to enter the cell it doesn't allow it to pass through it.
