Cells tranmits nutrional materiak,excreatory material and many gases,which is completed by cell membrane,The transmission of material is completed in a limited time and no energy is used,It is only possible when cekl becomes small,If cells are larger in size then large amount of nutritional substances are required.If the size increases,then the volume of cell is also increase,Due to this the nutritional requirment is not fulfilledby the cell.

That's why the cells are smaller in size.
