Why cerebrum is having more ridges and groves?
______________________________________________
These ridges and grooves are called gyri and sulci respectively.
- They increase the surface area of the cortex for accommodation of more nerve cells in it .
So , increase in their number means increase in the number of nerve cells consequently increase in intelligence .
- The number of these convolutions (ridges nd grooves) is different for different individuals and determines their intelligence or IQ
