Hi there ^_^

⬇⬇⬇

CFCs or chlorofluorocarbons have serious environmental consequences. Once released in the atmosphere (somewhat in the stratosphere), they can destroy the ozone layer resulting the sun's UV or ultraviolet rays on earth.

Hope it helps ^_^

Hi friend!

Answer:

CFCs (Chlorofluorocarbons) are less dense and float high up in the sky. They damage the ozone (O3) layer in the troposphere. The ozone layer is a very important layer as it blocks out harmful radiations like UV rays from the sun by reflecting them back into space.

CFCs make the ozone layer thinner and in some places they create, and have created, holes, called ozone holes, where there is no filter to protect us from UV rays.

Since CFCs deplete the ozone layer by contaminating it (reacting with it), they are called as pollutants.

Hope you found my answer helpful. Keep Smiling!
