Rate of diffusion of gases are inversely proportional to their molecular weight , so lighter the gas with respect to its molecular weight it will tend to diffuse faster , the molecular weight of given gases in increasing orders are CH4 - molecular wight - 16 , N2 - 28 and O2 - 32 respectively , so CH4 gas would faster to N2 and O2gases comment plzz are u satisfy or not

Hey mate

Lightweight gases diffuse at a much faster rate than heavy gases. Graham's law of diffusion shows the relationship between diffusion and molar mass.

Ch4 has Mass = 16 while CO2 has mass = 44

That's why Ch4 diffuses faster.

Thanks
