Chadragupta Maurya’s administration is a powerful and most streamlined one.  He had a vast empire and he believed in subjects’ happiness as his happiness and ruled in a royal way.  The decision of the Royal Decree on any dispute is final.  The information on his administration has been written in Arthasastra and Megasthenes.  

He appointed Ministers, priests, officers and servants but also placed a spy amongst them to get the updates on his employees. 
 

The King had many rooms and he had lady bodyguards.  He slept in different bedrooms every night. The King’s protection was the priority.  The road through which he will be travelling had safety measures taken.  He food was tasted by several members before it came to his table.
 

He had six departments for war, which are named as follows: The elephants, The Fleet, The Infantry, The Cavalary, The Transport, The chariots.  He had departments like Agriculture, Mines, Metals, Passports, Shipping etc… Finance was considered to be important department.
