The answer depends upon the following conditions:
1. If the change of state and colour is a result of some chemical reaction, then the change of state and colour are considered as characteristics of a chemical reaction.
For example: Reaction of NaCl with silver nitrate. Here the change in colour and state i.e. formation of white ppt (silver chloride) is considered as characteristics of a chemical reaction.
2. Otherwise the change of state and colour are considered as characteristics of a physical change.
For example: Change of state of bromine from liquid to vapour.
