Why change of volume does not affect equilibrium of a system?

Because there is an equal number of moles on both sides of the reaction, an increase in volume will have no effecton the equilibrium and thus there is no shift in the direction. Because thereare more moles of reactants, an increase in volume will shift theequilibrium to the left in order to favor the reactants.
