A pop sound is only produced in presence of Hydrogen (H2) gas. Sulphur powder and charcoal do not have hydrogen gas hence it doesn't burn with pop sound.

Hey dear,
● Explanation -
- Pop sound is made only by burning of hydrogen as lot of energy is released.
2H2 + O2 --> 2H2O
- When charcoal burns in air, carbon dioxide is formed.
C + O2 --> CO2
- When sulphur powder burns in air, sulphur dioxide is formed.
S + O2 --> SO2
- As none of these processes release that big amt of energy, pop sound is not formed.
Hope this helps you..
